The DP991T Apollo Discovery Multi-Sensor is an elegant, slim-line, optical/heat multi-sensor with high performance analogue addressable features. Compensation for sensor drift is included as part of the internal signal-processing algorithm. Operating Principles The DP991T Apollo Discovery Multi-Sensor contains an optical smoke sensor and a temperature sensor whose outputs are combined to give the final decision of a possible fire situation. The way in which the signals from the two sensors are combined depends on the response mode selected. Five operating modes provide response behavior which incorporates pure heat detection, pure smoke detection and a combination of both. The multi-sensor is therefore useful over the widest range of applications. Unique Addressing A unique, patented addressing method provides simple, user-friendly and accurate identification of monitor location whereby a coded card, inserted in the base, is read by any monitor as it is plugged in. All the electronic components are in the monitor, but the location information is held in the base. Addressing errors during maintenance and service are eliminated. Pre-coded and pre-numbered address cards are also available. These address cards simplify and speed up installation and commissioning.
